The Impact on Wildlife
We believe there will be a major impact on wildlife particularly close to turbine site T1. Issues so far identified are:
- Presence of bats living in the trees and using the hedgerow near T1 site
- Nesting lapwings at Chetton and Underton
- Curlews spotted along Jack Mytton Way
For an interesting review of the impact on wild life of turbines, see Clive Hambler's article in the Spectator from January 2013: Wind farms vs wildlife: the shocking environmental cost of renewable energy.
