The Proposal

A proposal to erect two large industrial wind turbines (up to 80 metres high) across the Jack Mytton Way at Meadowley (which is between Upton Cressett and Morville) was announced in 2011 by CRIDA, an organisation formed by Sustainable Bridgnorth (based in Highley) and Sharenergy (based in Shrewsbury).

The location of the turbines is shown on the map below which illustrates how the turbines will straddle the Jack Mytton bridleway. The application documentation on the Council website includes a precise location map.

CRIDA erected an anemometer to measure wind speed and a planning application has now been submitted.  We need as much local support as possible to combat this threat to the area and our community. Please register your objections on the Council website (click here to view).

It is also important to register with us so we can update you by email on this controversial project. We will be holding meetings and providing leaflets and posters for our supporters to express their concerns and disagreement with the project. It is very important that your local councillor is under no illusion as to the unpopularity of this scheme. If you are from outside the area but want to object we would very much appreciate if you enter an objection on the Council website. We know this area is enjoyed by many visitors (walkers, cyclists, horse riders, caravanners, motorhomers, etc) from not only the West Midlands but across the country and further afield. Please help us stop this area being defaced by wind turbines.
