Impact on the Environment
We are concerned that the noise, scale and vibration will radically change the existing environment in the area around Meadowley and Upton Cressett.
This is not only important for local residents but it scars the Jack Mytton Way, which is not only Shropshire’s ‘flagship’ tourist trail - used by thousands of walkers, bike riders and horse riders – but also an important wildlife habitat because of proximity to the ancient Meadowley Woods who are owned by a woodland conservation body.
Horse riding may become dangerous for riders – especially less experienced riders – near the proposed turbines and could endanger lives as horses can become easily startled by turbines starting to move without warning together with shadow flicker which can disorientate animals.
Construction
In addition to the long-term effects, the initial construction will disrupt and potentially destroy the existing character of narrow country lanes. The Crida submission does not explain what work is required to local roads and bridges to transport the large mast assemblies to the site particularly how this will be achieved from the A458.
