The Creation of A Wind Farm Hot-Spot
Were wind farms to start being developed in a 'hot-spot' around Bridgnorth, the entire area could be quickly blighted as is currently happening in the Daventry district of Northamptonshire, where villages are awash with 'No Wind Farm Here' signs on houses thus paralysing the local market which has frozen due to uncertainty.
Nobody wants to live next door to an industrial crane that towers in size over Nelson's column, causes 'shadow flicker' due to the width of the rotar blades blocking out the sun and makes a noise that has been likened to 'an aircraft taking off'.
A disturbing document by local campaigners based on planning application information provided by Daventry District Council in June 2011 shows the current total of turbines threatening the local landscape around the village of Crick is up from 68 turbines reported on 27 Jan to 102 turbines just six months later (see table below) and is expected to increase further.
We cannot allow the beauty of the area of Bridgnorth hills to become so desecrated and besieged.
